You may be wondering… How likely is it that I will experience a long-term care event? A recent study from the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College found that 38% of 65-year-olds will develop moderate needs and almost 25% will have severe needs. The good news is that 40% will have minimal needs or no care needs at all.
But for those of you who have experience with a family member you may know that the type of care needed comes in a variety of options from a provider coming into your home a few hours a day or a few days a week, to moving to assisted living, memory care or full nursing home care. In short, the need for care is unique for each person that requires it depending upon their personal health and family history.
The good news is that we develop a plan for all our clients by the time you reach age 60 – just in case the need arises. If you have questions about your situation or a parent’s, please ask us to review your circumstances and develop a plan for you. Contact us here.
